Sharpen a Knife Like the Experts
Professional home knife sharpening with Warthog Knife Sharpeners eliminates the hassle of obtaining a sharp edge. A good-quality knife can last a lifetime, and many are passed down from generation to generation. However, just like a car, home, or fine jewelry, a knife is only as good as the care it’s given. Proper blade sharpening can not only help your knives to function better, but it can also prevent damage to your knives.
Protect Your Investment With Regular Knife Sharpening
You place a lot of pride in your investment in quality knives. Warthog Sharpeners takes pride in providing you with a way of caring for them like the experts.
Traditional Sharpening Systems Do More Harm Than Good
Warthog examined all three types of traditional knife sharpening systems:
- Hand Held
- Rod Sharpener
Each of these sharpener systems had the same problem: lack of consistency in blade edge and potential for damage to the knife. We knew there had to be a better way to keep a consistently sharp blade without causing blade damage.
The Warthog difference was the answer. With Warthog Sharpeners, only the blade edge is honed, meaning no damage to the edge or the transition between the edge and blade body – only a sharp edge on a knife you can trust for years to come.
Sharpening a Knife Without Causing Damage
While not sharpening a knife can lead to increased use of force, damage to your knife, and personal injury, not sharpening a knife correctly risks structural damage to the knife. Fortunately, the proper regular use of a high-quality knife sharpener can both increase its functionality and protect it and you from harm. Still, most sharpeners fall short when it comes to providing consistent sharpening without damage.
Warthog Sharpeners uses a patented system that prevents the problems associated with other knife sharpeners by maintaining a constant angle between the blade and sharpener without using a clamp.
Steps for Sharpening a Knife for a Perfect Cut Every Time
Warthog Sharpeners makes professional knife sharpening easy and efficient with just a few simple steps.
- Initial Sharpening – If you are starting with a very dull blade, you’ll first want to create an edge. To do so, keep the blade flat against your Warthog Sharpeners’ Blade Guide and use a back-and-forth, up-and-down sawing motion for approximately 30-40 strokes, depending on the condition of the blade.
- Final Sharpening – Draw the blade in a downward motion, completely through and out of the sharpener, while keeping the blade flat against the blade guide for final and touch-up sharpening. Repeat the process 10-15 times or until you have a flat bevel from heel to tip. Resharpening may require as little as five strokes.
Blade guide adjustment and “V” adjustment knobs ensure a perfect edge for every knife – every time.
